Revelation

the book of Revelation is unique because in the very first few verses it tells what kind of book it is. 1. it is a prophetic book Rev 1:1 this is not a book about the past or the present , it is a book about whats going to happen in the future. in fact the book begins with the keyword Apokolypsis which is were we get the word Apocolypse. Normally when we hhear that word it is used to describe calamity or disaster, but the greek word Apocolypse means an unveiling. it literally means a manifestation , an uncovering. so the book of Revelation even tho it tells us about the end times is primarily a revelation, notice at the top of your Bibles the Title of the book says the Revelation or uncovering of Jesus Christ , so besides the warnins and calamity the ultimate purpose of the book is the unveiling of the Glory, and the Power , and soveriegnty and victory of the Lord Jesus Christ .
